Gear manufacturing involves the production of gears, which are essential components in various mechanical systems. Gear processing machines are used to process various cylindrical gears, bevel gears, and other geared parts. Gear processing machines come in a wide variety of specifications, including small machines for processing gears with a diameter of a few millimeters, large machines for processing gears with a diameter of more than ten meters, and high-efficiency machines for processing precision gears for mass production. Gear processing machine can cut spur and helical cylindrical gears, and can also process worm wheels, sprockets, etc.


Gear processing machine tools use hobs to process spur, helical and herringbone cylindrical gears and worm wheels according to the development method. This gear making machine can also process workpieces with various special tooth shapes such as splines and sprockets when using special hobs. The processing accuracy of ordinary gear hobbing machines is 7 to 6 levels (JB179-83), and that of high-precision gear hobbing machines is 4 to 3 levels. With a maximum processing diameter of 15 meters, this gear forming machine can meet the stringent demands of various applications.

Classification of Gear Hobbing Machines

Gear hobbing machines are divided into two types according to their layout: vertical and horizontal. Large and medium-sized gear hobbing machines are mostly vertical, while small gear hobbing machines and gear hobbing machines dedicated to processing long shaft gears are all horizontal. Vertical gear hobbing machines are divided into two types: table movement and column movement. When the vertical gear hobbing machine is working, the hob is mounted on the hob spindle and driven by the main motor to rotate. The tool holder can move vertically along the column guide rail and can also adjust an angle around the horizontal axis. The workpiece is mounted on the workbench and driven to rotate by the indexing worm gear pair, which together with the movement of the hob constitutes an unfolding movement. When rolling helical gears, the differential mechanism causes the workpiece to make corresponding additional rotations. The workbench (or column) can move along the bed guide to adapt to different workpiece diameters and make radial feeds.

Working Principle of Gear Hobbing Machine

The extended epicycloidal bevel gear milling machine uses an extended epicycloidal bevel gear milling cutter disc, or a double-body combined face milling cutter disc, to continuously index the gear cutting machine according to the developing method. When cutting gear, the cradle milling cutter disc and the workpiece are continuously rotated, and the cradle is fed to process one workpiece. The cradle reciprocates once. The continuous rotation of the milling cutter disc workpiece allows the workpiece to obtain a certain number of teeth and continuously index, and form a tooth length curve. The cradle rotates the workpiece and the additional movement is combined to produce a developing movement, so that the workpiece obtains a tooth profile curve.
